About Forever Scouts
Our History
Forever Scouts was founded in 2023 by a local scouter after attending
Occoneechee Council's Wood Badge Course 15-421-23. This scouter believes that foster children not only deserve to be included in the scouting program but that they have a unique need that will benefit deeply from the aims of scouting. Forever Scouts, with the support of council, local units and private donors will deliver these opportunities to foster children and their families at no cost. Due to the uniformity of the scouting program and the numerous units throughout the area, it is our hope that foster children can continue their scouting journey, regardless of their placement. A community of scouts. A sense of belonging. Forever.
Who we serve
Forever Scouts serves North Carolina foster children (boys and girls) and their foster families, which include all youth living in the home. Forever Scouts aims to make connections between foster families and their local scouting unit. Enrollment for scouting programs is continuous and can be done at any time. In addition to making these connections, Forever Scouts is committed to mitigating the costs associated with the scouting program such as uniforms, dues, camping equipment and more.
